Biography


“Fine Portraits by Commission”

In 2004 Frenasee was honored by a Senate Proclamation from the State of Georgia for her portrait of Senator Hugh M. Gillis. The background of the finished 36″ x 60″ work, commissioned by the Dublin Rotary Club, portrays a landscape of the Hugh M. Gillis public fishing lake where a reproduction of the original painting hangs.

StudioSummer emailOver time Frenasee has won many awards and received numerous acknowledgements. She received an Honorable Mention in 2009, from the prestigious Portrait Society of Atlanta, and was a Southern Watercolor Society Finalist. The Dublin/Laurens Chamber of Commerce and Development Authority awarded Frenasee “Business of the Third Quarter in 2008″. In 2006 she was awarded First Place in the watercolor professional division at the Georgia National Fair in Perry Georgia with her portrait of Katie Bell Bourassa. She also received the highly respected Award of Merit in 2005 from that same institution.

Frenasee completed 36 commissioned portraits and landscapes for the McGrath Keen Conference Center in Dublin, Georgia in 2006 – 2007. The paintings are a tribute to the platinum contributors whose generous contribution to the Chamber of Commerce helped raise in excess of five hundred thousand dollars for the construction of the new McGrath Keen Conference Center and adjoining landscaping.

Born in Washington State, her private studio is presently located in Dublin Georgia where she lives with her husband Leard. Leard is the director of the Oconee Regional Library System which brought them to Dublin in 2002. Frenasee has two children and four grandchildren who are a vital part of her life. They all live in Columbus Georgia and she is with them frequently.
